Prof. Gencho Nachev: Under the scenario of Czech COVID in our country our system will not survive – Diseases

There is an optimistic and pessimistic forecast for the development of the coronavirus pandemic in our country. It is optimistic to return to the patient levels of three months ago. The pessimism is reaching the levels of the Czech Republic: 600 patients per 100,000 per day, which is terrible. I hope it is something in between. I don’t think we get to the optimists, but I hope we don’t get to those 600 patients, because I think then the system won’t last. This was said in the morning block of Nova TV by the director of St. Ekaterina Hospital, Prof. Dr. Gencho Nachev.

In no way can I say that the system is in chaos, but there are difficulties. There are specific provisions on what to do, he added.

We are at war and we must use all possible means to defeat the enemy. One of them is the state of emergency, said Professor Nachev.

2,427 newly infected with coronavirus: more than 30% of those examined, 51 died

Starting on November 6 at 1:00 p.m., there should be mobile test points for COVID-19 in front of each hospital, said Professor Gencho Nachev. According to him, this is a requirement ordered by the Minister of Health. We will also reveal such a point. It will be decided whether we will take a van for this purpose or use a separate hospital room, added Professor Nachev.

Antigen tests will be carried out at these points, which Prime Minister Boyko Borissov insisted on yesterday. These are faster tests than PCR: in 10-15 minutes there is approximately 96% certainty in the diagnosis of coronavirus, explained the director of St. Catherine Hospital. The idea is to have a definitive diagnosis and advice on what to do at the checkpoints. By order of the RHI, we have discovered 5 more beds for those infected with coronavirus, he added.

There is hardly a person who can agree that a patient can die because they take him to 4-5 hospitals. The minister is right to be angry in this case. There was a provision almost 10 days ago that 10% of the beds were for COVID patients. There can be no hospital that wants to be “clean” and does not accept coronavirus patients. This is a complete illusion. For this reason, every hospital, no matter how specialized, must prepare and have beds for these patients, said Professor Gencho Nachev.

Professor Angelov threatened: Anyone who does not follow my orders will feel the full force of the law

According to him, those taken by the Ministry of Health are timely. No one expected such a boom in the infected. I think the restrictions came late, said Professor Nachev.
