In the state of Victoria, where more than 90 percent of the country’s 907 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported, not a single person has been infected or killed for the second day in a row.
As no cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the rest of Australia, this is the first day without local transmission of the infection since June 9, Health Minister Greg Hunt said.
Thank you to all of our wonderful healthcare professionals and especially to all Australians, Hunt wrote on his Twitter account.
Zero cases of community transmission at present, throughout Australia. The first national zero community broadcast day since June 9.

The residents of Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria, are enjoying the first weekend in which cafes, restaurants and pubs welcome customers again.
Australia has managed to reduce the number of coronavirus infections to just over 27,500 since the start of the pandemic, thanks to the rapid closure of its international borders, the imposition of social distance restrictions and extensive testing and tracking.
On Friday, Australian authorities warned their compatriots not to travel to the United States because of the danger of the coronavirus and violence during protests there.
