On New Year’s Eve I will offer the accommodation restaurants that will be open until 12:30 p.m. At the request of the industry, today I will talk with the National Operational Headquarters, the health authorities and the government about this possibility so that the guests are received with tranquility. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova while participating in the morning block of BTV. He stressed that the capacity of diners in restaurants remains at 50%, not allowing crowds. According to her, the programs are not allowed, but it will be more hygienic for people to stay in the restaurant and not bring food to the rooms.
During the past Christmas holidays I have not received a single sign of violations, the minister reported. He noted that he had personally visited hotels as a mystery shopper, where he made sure the rules were strictly followed. According to her, the periodic inspections, which were carried out in December, showed that both businesses and tourists are disciplined.
Secret parties will not be allowed, Minister Nikolova was categorical, adding that there must be self-discipline. He also specified that the control bodies work actively and if there are signals, they are immediately referred to the competent institutions. The Minister pointed out that the inspections during the Students’ Festival – December 8, showed that the rules are being followed and that the predictions for the celebrations of many people were not fulfilled.
Regarding the winter season, the minister said that the reservations for girls are 30%, and in the coming months they will again have Bulgarian visitors. We expect last minute bookings, as well as guests from neighboring Serbia, Turkey, North Macedonia, who can come by car, he explained.
When asked about vaccination against Kovid-19, the Deputy Prime Minister said she was ready to be vaccinated in public and hoped to have this opportunity soon. I don’t think it can harm my health, but everyone decides for themselves, he added. With regard to tourism, practice shows that antigen tests work, the minister said.
