Kiril Hristoskov, the man who ran the Trakia Foundation and was responsible for Vasil Bozhkov’s collections, suffered a stroke.

“The situation is not under control yet. For me, everything has stopped. We are waiting! We wait! Dad is in the room for the most serious cases of the Military Medical Academy,” said his daughter Virginia from the hospital corridor in tears. She is his only daughter and secretary of the Bulgarian Collectors Union.

The antique connoisseur hasn’t been in good health lately. He had leg problems.

Kiril Hristoskov began his career in State Security. In 1985, he established the Department of Antiquities and hunted down treasure hunters and traffickers. He then worked at the NSCOC (now GDCOP) as a lead expert and led a unit to combat the trafficking of cultural and historical values. Bogomil Bonev fired him from the system in 1998.

Since then he has worked for Vasil Bozhkov and is responsible for his collections.
