In these places you are more likely to catch a K-19!

There is no point in imposing border measures that restrict travel, because the virus has already spread everywhere. This was stated by the Head of State Inspectors, Prof. Angel Kunchev, during a debate organized by the National Patient Organization together with the Association of Bulgarian Institutions.

According to Adjunct Professor Kunchev, the draconian measures imposed by neighboring Greece throughout the summer did not work, because in repeated tests a maximum of 10-15 carriers were caught by 300 carriers. Once again, the chief health inspector said that hotels and restaurants have invested heavily in compliance with the measures and are among the safest places for the non-proliferation of the coronavirus.

“However, they were victims of nightclubs and discos that did not comply with the regulations,” Kunchev said. He added that these establishments are riskier, since they were created to shorten the distance and not observe it.

Determined: This is what happens to discos and nightclubs in the new K-19 boom

Associate Professor Kunchev admitted that such behavior is the responsibility of the animators themselves. “Although there is no evidence that more people are getting infected there, the contacts are still closer,” he explained.

“However, in Europe these are the first sites to be closed, and although we do not want and do not intend to do so, if necessary, we will take similar measures,” Kunchev told the Trud newspaper. The representatives of the restaurants emphasized that they limit the number of visitors and provide more space for their customers and comply with all the prescribed measures.

Associate Professor Kunchev said that restaurants are not the riskiest and that a greater danger lies in attending family celebrations such as weddings, birthdays and proms.

According to the chief health inspector, the reduction in the working hours of the establishments does not have any special effect either, since the virus does not have a working day. He recommended using only the nearly 1,000 disinfectants approved by the Ministry of Health.

He stressed that around 100 cosmetics posing as disinfectants have been discontinued and that speculation about protective gear has decreased in recent months. Kunchev stressed that it is much more effective to disinfect the air with bactericidal lamps than with surfaces. However, the company complained that prices are still too high and hinder business.

Associate Professor Kunchev insisted that a tightening of the measures is not envisaged at the moment, but their stricter observance is recommended. And he acknowledged that there are only 500 inspectors to monitor compliance across the country, and they are primarily involved in larger activities to curb the epidemic.

“Restaurants are not the most affected by the crisis, and even more affected are hotels and the entire tourism sector, as well as the field of cultural events,” said Associate Professor Kunchev. Although not everyone is following prescriptions for the first time in decades, other infectious diseases such as hepatitis are declining in cases by between 50 and 86 percent.
