The Czech government, just four days after easing restrictions on the coronavirus pandemic, has decided to tighten them again, even slightly, to end the positive downward trend in the number of infected. The negative change was clearly evident last week, Health Minister Jan Blatny said, according to TASS.

He informed journalists at a press conference in Prague that the government had decided to reduce the opening hours of restaurants, bars and other similar establishments to 8 pm local time. As of Wednesday the sale of alcohol is prohibited in all markets, as well as the consumption of alcohol in the street.
Blatney also said the government was submitting a proposal to parliament to extend the state of emergency, which runs from October 5 to January 11. His current term expires on December 12.
During the last 24 hours, 1,113 new people infected with the coronavirus have been registered in the country. A total of 546,833 people have been infected in the country so far and 8,902 have died from complications related to Kovid-19. Currently, 4179 people are receiving treatment for the infection in hospitals.
