The Ministry of Health clarifies that there is no evidence that the child has been diagnosed with COVID infection.
The first to announce the case was the director of the Executive Agency for Medical Supervision, Dr. Georgi Deyanov. He is outraged by the case. According to him, an investigation is underway for denying medical care to a young child with difficulty breathing.
“There is an opinion that was published on the agency’s website: COVID-19 cannot be a reason to refuse to admit a patient. All must be accepted,” he commented.
The Ministry of Health announced that by order of the Executive Director of the Agency an inspection has been assigned, which is currently being carried out to clarify the facts and circumstances of the case. There are no other signs of difficulties in the hospitalization of children with health problems, they added.
Dr. Georgi Deyanov also said that in a very short time the Agency has received many signals and complaints related to hospital admission. Around 80 coronavirus-related signals have been received and 133 active scans are currently underway.
Also being investigated is the scandalous case in which a 72-year-old man with COVID-19 died in Svoge hospital after being denied admission to several hospitals in Sofia.
