Macron is isolating himself in Versailles and earlier this week, the BFM broadcast his presidency live at a government ministerial meeting via audiovisuals.
He said that although he would work at a slower pace as he recovered, he would continue to address priority issues such as France’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit talks with the UK.
During a government meeting on Monday, Emmanuel Macron stressed that his country needs to “redouble” its vigilance against the coronavirus, given the emergence of a new strain of Covid-19 in the UK.
“We have to be extremely vigilant,” Macron said at the time, arguing that the government was in the process of constructing the most appropriate response to the “mutation of the problem.”
