Covid-targets in front of hospitals from Friday, a turnaround for jeep tests

The mobile points ordered by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in front of each hospital, where patients with suspected Covid-19 will be evaluated and examined, will be located until Friday, November 6. This was announced on Tuesday by Health Minister Kostadin Angelov. He pointed out that vans like the ones there are already in front of Pirogov, Alexandrovsk Hospital and others. Medical facilities will be located in front of all state universities and district hospitals. The purpose of the points is to consult patients who are otherwise unable to communicate with a physician. Antigen testing will be done on site and reviewed by a doctor or nurse based on the capabilities of the hospital.

Angelov said the goal is for people to receive timely consultations and to have as many people with symptoms tested. He said that no one would be returned, but if the tails were twisted, he warned people to keep their distance. Who should be hospitalized and where they will be judged by specialists. According to Angelov, the promised coordination center is already operating at the national level, which will provide logistical assistance to the country’s hospitals in terms of availability of places, stocks of medicines and consumables, etc. Angelov warned that this center is only for the needs of hospitals, health institutions, emergency services and citizens should call an ambulance.

Fandakova will not fire the head of the city hospital IV

At the end of last week, due to the lack of enough open places in hospitals and the overload of emergency care, the health care system in Sofia was blocked and medical institutions refused to accept patients. Due to such refusal and poor organization of work, Angelov demanded the resignation of the director of the Fourth City Hospital, Dr. Arkady Ivanov.

However, on Tuesday, the mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, announced that she would not release Ivanov “because it is not time to resign.” Meanwhile, hundreds of patients signed up to support Ivanov as a dedicated physician.

The case for which he was asked to resign was due to the long stay of an ambulance with a 70-year-old patient and the initial refusal of the plant manager to accept him. Later, the patient was hospitalized. On Tuesday, it became clear that an internal hospital inspection in the case found the delay to be just over an hour, 66 minutes.

“It is clear that there are gaps in the rules. The first delay, a little over 30 minutes, is until the doctor on duty arrives. This is a very serious delay. And, in fact, the second delay is due to conversations the doctor on duty, his ward manager. as well as the emergency doctor. Something that delayed the entire procedure, instead of acting, was the time devoted to conversations. This of course is unacceptable, I don’t think it’s time to resign ”., Fandakova is motivated.

Jeeps will still ask for a PCR test

The Health Minister announced Tuesday a reversal of the idea of GPs appointing referrals for rapid antigen testing in laboratories rather than PCR testing. This option was rejected due to an analysis by the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, according to which quarantine, isolation, etc. cannot be imposed. based on them.

A week ago, the director of the NCIPD, Professor Kantardzhiev, asked for your massive input and said that in case of a large system overload, it is allowed not to seek confirmation by PCR. Earlier, the director of the National Health Insurance Fund said the jeeps would order antigen tests and, if they were positive, a PCR test would be performed in the laboratory. Angelov announced Tuesday that the last option discussed is an electronic referral issued by the jeep, with which the patient will be referred for a PCR test.

The Ministry of Health sent 20 officials to help the IHR

Angelov also announced that as of today, 20 employees of the National Center for Public Health and Analysis are involved in the work of the Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate (SRHI), which has been exhausted in the last week. The aim is for them to support their committed colleagues in the implementation of state health control, incl. delivering prescriptions and updating data in the National Information System to Combat COVID-19, etc.

For now, the idea of SMS notification for quarantine, which was launched last week, is postponed.

“It is better to deliver these prescriptions for patients positively diagnosed with coronavirus on paper, because they are reason to issue an illness note. If the number of patients and people who need to be quarantined continues to increase, we also send electronic notifications and by SMS”he pointed.

Angelov said that in Germany they have already stopped searching and conducting epidemiological studies, and they rely on the conscience and reason of the people to warn everyone they have come in contact with, because the efforts of the authorities to carry out these studies they are headed in other directions in terms of crisis control.
