SINCE a walking visit by the Minister of Health in the district of Targovishte, declared a red zone. Aside from the big jump in the number of people infected, the situation with hospital beds for people with COVID-19 remains difficult. The solution that was found was the assignment of the patients.
Hospitals in the Northeast will jointly tolerate treatment for coronavirus patients from neighboring areas.
This was made clear in a statement by the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov, during his visit to Targovishte. Therefore, if there is a spike in COVID-19 patients in Razgrad, they will be referred for treatment in Ruse. From Shumen, where capacity is almost full, additional cases will be sent to hospitals in Varna.
According to Professor Angelov, there is no shortage of beds or medical personnel in Targovishte.
Minister Angelov: Do not travel to Blagoevgrad and Targovishte
If necessary, 58 new beds can be opened for the treatment of COVID-19 patients at the Targovishte regional hospital.
“I don’t see cause for concern or any further shakeup. On the contrary, the situation is quite well controlled. “ Professor Kostadin Angelov said.
There are currently 302 active cases of coronavirus in the Targovishte district. Of these, 79 people were hospitalized. 49 are housed in the district hospital.
COVID-19: Our country’s hospitals are on the edge
“Most likely, today another room will start operating for the admission of these patients. It will have the function of a triage room, where patients with a clinical picture will remain, but with an unproven PCR test. For all our calls for volunteers, so far no one answered, “explained Dr. Ivan Svetulkov, director of the Targovishte Hospital.
“The strength of the staff in the COVID wards of our hospital is at its limits. Everyone is already working on their skills, but the moral responsibility they have can motivate them to some extent, “said Tatiana Petrova, head of nursing at Targovishte Hospital.
Again, a large number of people infected by COVID-19 in our country died
According to the Ministry of Health, the percentage of sick and quarantined students in Targovishte is 12% and that of teachers is 9%.
“The current figures do not require the removal of students from the current way of learning in an electronic environment,” explained Professor Kostadin Angelov.
However, parents have refused to allow their children to return to classrooms since Monday. They insist that the training be online for at least 2 weeks.
The Minister of Health also announced that funds will be provided for the establishment of two PCR testing laboratories for the Targovishte and Shumen hospitals.
