Bulgarians in New Zealand are starting to vote

[ad_1]

Abroad, the elections for the 45th National Assembly begin tonight, Bulgarian time, and will end on the morning of April 5, 2021.

Due to the 10 hour time difference, our compatriots in Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand were the first to vote. There, polling stations opened at 9:00 pm Bulgarian time on April 3, 2021. The latter will close polling stations in the US states of California, Arizona and Nevada, where Election Day ends at 6:00 am Bulgarian time on April 5, 2021.

Bulgarian citizens abroad can exercise their right to vote in a total of 465 polling stations in 69 countries.

We remind you that the consents for the organization of the elections, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received from the respective countries, were delivered with the commitment to strictly observe the health protocols and anti-epidemic measures against the coronavirus in each country.

Abroad, where there are restrictive measures that could hinder the vote of Bulgarian citizens due to a travel ban or at night, the Foreign Ministry requested and received from the respective countries exceptions for the elections. In some places our embassies will issue official notes, in others Bulgarian citizens will travel with declarations and forms issued by the relevant local authorities. In Spain, where 53 polling stations have been opened, local authorities have informed us that due to the prohibition of movement between districts where polling stations have been opened, Bulgarian citizens must vote at their place of residence.

Information on polling stations opened abroad by country, as well as on anti-epidemic measures in the respective countries, is published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the section “Elections” and in the section “Coronavirus – how to travel “in:
