On Monday, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov boasted that he had spoken to the head of the Covid Clinic at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Associate Prof. Atanas Mangarov, and learned from him that he was ready to be vaccinated. The Prime Minister recommended that it be made public to convince people that the assistant professor, critical of the official line to counter the pandemic, also supports the vaccination campaign.
“I even spoke with Mangarov, and they are going to vaccinate him. Vaccinate him in public, because he told me that he is 100%” by “vaccination”, Borissov said, addressing the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov. Borissov stressed that he maintains contacts with “both fields” in medical circles on the subject of Covid-19.
A little later, however, the associate professor told “24 Chasa” that he would not be vaccinated against the coronavirus. The reason was that he had antibodies because he had contracted the virus asymptomatically.
Atanas Mangarov was quoted in recent weeks as saying that the problem with coronavirus vaccines is not allergic reactions, but the fact that it is unclear what the oncogenic potential of these vaccines is, that is, if they cannot lead to changes. cancer or foreign proteins – to autoimmune diseases. According to the associate professor, these are not things that can be established in three or four months. Until recently, you believed that vaccines should only be given to the highest risk groups of people.
On Monday, however, it turned out that the infectious disease specialist still supported vaccination and did indeed speak with the prime minister about the issue. “Since I have antibodies and the prime minister who also contracted the disease, we do not need to be vaccinated. But if he and I had not had the virus, I would have advised him to get vaccinated.” Mangarov noted “24 hours”. He said that for a moment he did not feel bad or some of the typical symptoms, which means that he is in the group of that 80% of the population that contracts the infection asymptomatically.
Meanwhile, Borissov made his forecast for the development of the vaccination campaign, based on his extensive experience with remediation.
“They will see that the vaccine will be like a remediation – at first emissaries passed by and feared that when the blocks were rehabilitated, that they would raise their taxes, someone would buy them, sell them. And now the mayors only ask about that -“. “When the remediation continues. The same will happen with the vaccine. Now we trust the European Medicines Agency and the European Commission. They will give more and more information to people. Different vaccines will come. They will see that we will arrive at the percentage ”. believes the Prime Minister.
He is committed to providing a scanner and building a chapel at St. Anna Hospital in Sofia.
