A fire broke out at the COVID-19 Nursing Home in Blagoevgrad, which was isolated. An emergency evacuation of the 79 residents of the social institution followed. Thanks to the rapid intervention of firefighters and volunteers, only one person suffered gas. However, firefighters themselves will be quarantined due to the danger of being infected with a coronavirus.

The 79 residents and staff were evacuated. “The fire is currently being extinguished. The fire started from a room on the top floor of the building. The most likely cause is electricity. There is absolutely no danger to humans. They were all eliminated, thanks to timely intervention by staff, the people who helped, as well as the colleagues, “said the director of the Service” Fire safety and population protection “Georgi Parmakov.

Firefighters, volunteers, and staff were able to get the people out quickly. “Only a few are taken out of the dangerous environment. In this regard, very good deeds,” explained the head of fire commissioner Nikolay Nikolov.
