The epidemic situation is worsening, some hospitals are already experiencing difficulties and measures will tighten, especially if people continue to disobey the instructions of the authorities, warned the state’s chief health inspector, associate professor Angel Kunchev. On bTV, he pointed out that the 2-week closure of bars and discos and the passage of high school students and online can be longer if we do not break the morbidity curve.

It is “very likely” that even the youngest students study remotely, despite the position of the Ministry of Education and Science that they have the lowest efficiency in this way and have the greatest difficulties. “If the data shows that it is necessary, they will go to distance learning,” Kunchev emphasized.

“It is possible to further toughen these measures without reaching a blockade in populated areas; this is not a very effective measure. The evening is not the most effective in my opinion, it creates difficulties for citizens, but in municipalities where morbidity it is too high, the authorities do it, “Kunchev commented, emphasizing that despite the large-scale national measures last night, the level of possibility to make decisions.

“The problem of mixing medicine and politics is one of the most damaging things in this case. Establishments think they are destined and someone hates them; the schools think that we are limiting them ”, commented the expert.

According to him, there is a high probability that the epidemic situation will be prolonged, but it does not compromise with specific morbidity thresholds: “In other respiratory diseases there is a peak of 2-3-4 weeks and there is a decrease. I hope so, but I don’t think so, it doesn’t behave like a typical respiratory virus. “

Kunchev, who is in self-isolation after contact with ailing Prime Minister Borissov, commented on the surprising resignation of RHI-Sofia Director Dr. Dancho Penchev. According to him, this happened when he was already in quarantine, but, from what he knows of the case, “mainly due to the removal of the quarantine of the president and the prime minister, this decision was reached.”

The head of state health inspectors expressed the opinion that Penchev acted in such a way “so as not to interfere with the process of state governance”, while the people saw this as a gesture towards Radev and Borisov and therefore did not they will make exceptions.

Kunchev expressed regret at Penchev’s resignation: “At the time of greatest difficulty, I worked from 5 to 6 pm.”

He pointed out that at the moment the regulations do not regulate self-isolation, in which he himself finds himself, and said that this will be corrected.
