The stages of conducting the only country-representative survey for COVID-19 were determined during the first meeting of the study working group.

He added that the survey will be carried out in accordance with all WHO criteria, and the selection of people will be carried out completely randomly. The survey work will cover more than 500 home addresses.
“The research methodology is very detailed and complex. The design meets all WHO requirements. The points in the 6 districts of Plovdiv have already been determined by the program so that there is a uniform representation of the entire city,” he said. adjunct professor Kunchev.
A German company was chosen to carry out the tests. According to the ELISA method, the blood samples of the participants in the representative study will be analyzed in the laboratory of MU and St. George Hospital.
“ELISA demonstrates the presence of antibodies as they provide different types of information about the body’s immune response against the coronavirus,” said Professor Murdzheva. The study will give a picture in Plovdiv: how many people have encountered the virus and whether they have already contracted the disease or are carriers of the infection.
Half of the tests are available, and the rest will be delivered in stages over the next 14 days, the chief health inspector said.
“Everyone who participates will get their results. Participation of all household members is not mandatory, we focus on adults,” explained Dr. Stoitsova.
“The sampling will take place at the DCC of St. George Hospital, and in the Stolipinovo neighborhood it will be carried out by a mobile RHI team.
