Mezdra became the second Bulgarian municipality after Balchik to ban the 5G network.

According to the decision of the City Council, taken at the end of last year, in 2021 in the municipality of Mezdra the deployment, use, maintenance and development of the 5G network and its facilities is prohibited.

The decision was voted on a proposal by Radoslav Marinov, a municipal councilor from the local coalition of the Ataka party and the Bulgarian Spring movement for radical change, BNR reported.

The proposal was supported by a civil petition claiming that the development of new generation 4G and 5G mobile networks can turn a person into a transmitting antenna, as well as that the use of mobile phones has repeatedly saturated the electromagnetic background, which affects human and animal health, atmospheric processes and environmental pollution.

The subscription recommends that mobile operators lower prices for services and select devices individually for each customer.
