Barely able to carry out the latest order from the Minister of Health and all hospitals to open places for the treatment of patients with coronavirus, some of them will now have to “clean themselves” and take only patients with other diseases. The reason is that our country has already reached the critical threshold of 600 infected per 100,000 inhabitants and according to the recently announced plan of the authorities to deal with the pandemic, entire hospitals must be restructured to treat the coronavirus, but the than to absorb the remaining flow of patients with other diseases. So far, the government’s plan has been to not have “clean hospitals” and for everyone to open places for coronavirus patients, a move that has required a major reorganization that is still ongoing.
However, the rapid development of the epidemic in our country already presupposes the activation of another scenario, even before the current one is fully implemented.
Health Minister Kostadin Angelov announced to BNT on Tuesday that in each regional city of our country there will be at least one hospital in its entirety for patients with Covid-19 and at least one for patients without Covid-19. It has issued this order to the district governors, who must give an answer before the weekend as to which of the selected medical facilities they are.
Angelov explains that the step is necessary because we have crossed the border from 600 infected to 100,000 people, according to the announced plan.
“A letter has been sent to district headquarters to hold a meeting of your district headquarters to reply which hospital in your area should become Covid patients and that they should provide a sufficient number of profiles to ensure affordable and effective treatment. of coronavirus patients and anyone who is clean, which will also provide a sufficient number of profiles in the field to ensure affordable quality and effective medical care, ”said Angelov.
It is unclear how the idea will become a reality in district cities with a single large multidisciplinary hospital and where existing hospitals are overcrowded.
Infected since the beginning of the epidemic exceeded 100,000
