A woman from Nessebar infected with Covid-19 was accompanied by a team of ambulances to hospitals in Burgas and the region, and hours later they returned her home due to their refusal to accept.

First, the ambulance was returned by the guard team of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the UMHAT-Burgas. The management of the University Hospital of Burgas explained the refusal to admit the patient for treatment in the Department of Infectious Diseases due to the shortage of medical personnel to care for the 4 patients, Nova TV reported.

Today we had a nurse, a sick nurse, the main nurse of the Infectious Diseases Department came in to attend to, at this time the head nurse of the hospital is also dressed. No staff, nurses refuse to work”Commented the director of UMHAT-Burgas Dr. Boyko Mirazchiiski.

Then the ambulance team went to Pomorie hospital. They did not accept it there either.

“Because we don’t have equipment, because the hospital needs 20 beds to have 8 nurses and 4 doctors, and there are not that many staff,” said MHAT-Pomorie director Jeni Karailieva.

“She goes to the doctors, but they return her, yesterday they came with an ambulance, they took her, they brought her back. They bring her sick, infected with the virus, we have a small child, we have a disabled person. She has difficulty breathing, so it’s serious, “said Olga Panayotova. aunt of the patient, cited by bTV.

Family members of the patient are concerned.

“I did not expect such a thing, refusing to accept the girl. Masks are constantly being hawked to put on and come back sick, infected with the virus,” complained Olga Panayotova.

The patient’s employer also began seeking medical help.

“We call all the hospitals about your case and there are no free beds anywhere. Tell us what to do, tell me what to do and I’ll do it! Should I want a helicopter, I don’t know, should I call Boyko Borissov?” Said Todor Marvakov .

An investigation has been launched into the case, which should cover all units, from the patient’s personal doctor, through the emergency teams on duty, to the doctors who work in the wards of the two hospitals. The results will be communicated to the Minister of Health.

Meanwhile, Burgas hospital provided 20 new beds for coronavirus patients. And management redirected nurses from other wards to the COVID-19 area. The reaction was immediate.

“As soon as they found out, three nurses refused; one went to the hospital and the other requested to leave. Requests to leave the nurses are constantly being presented,” said UMHAT-Burgas PR Julia Andreeva.
