An alarmingly high number of people infected with coronavirus in the country per day: 436. More than 8% of the samples were positive.

The most infected are in Sofia: 135. Plovdiv with 40, Burgas with 38 and Stara Zagora with 27.

8 people died, 131 were cured.

There was a higher percentage of infected people only at the beginning of the epidemic in our country in March, when, however, the tests were many times lower, for example, for a whole week they were half of the tests carried out during the last 24 hours .

Yesterday the tests were 5400, the 436 positives are about 100 more than the record values so far.

There is also an increase in the number of hospitalized, already exceeding 970.

In the worst affected cities, the capital and Plovdiv, so far local health inspections do not provide information.

In Burgas they shared that the distribution is already diffuse. There are also two infected students, from the math high school and from the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” school, as well as three new infected doctors.

The growing number of cases is natural, but largely due to human behavior, said pulmonologist Alexander Simidchiev.

“It does not bother me so much that the process is growing, especially if it is among young people and if it occurs among adults. They will be the ones who will generate risk to the lives of patients. Both the individual and public risk will be greater,” said Alexander Simidchiev .

The prevalence picture at the moment is realistic: the tests cover the contacts of the infected and those with symptoms.

“Increasing the tests will not be as useful. It makes sense for different types of tests, the so-called antigen tests, because they are cheaper than AKP, they have diagnostic value and they become faster,” said the pulmonologist.

The weather also plays a role.

According to Alexander Simidchiev, the climate is cooler and could contribute to a more serious spread of the virus, but the key is people’s behavior.

Their recommendations: keep physical distance and wear masks correctly.
