Scandal at the airport: after a flight from London to Sofia, the Bulgarian authorities did not recognize the tests of two Bulgarian women carried out on the island. Thus, women must remain in quarantine for 10 days until a new test is carried out in our country, BNT reported.

The reason is that nowhere on the forms they bring from the UK does it state that the test is PCR.

María and Genoveva arrive from London. The plane was big and full. When they landed on Bulgarian soil, they were told not to get up from their seats to be transported in groups.

“We stayed about an hour while they were taking us all, group by group. When we got to the airport, we got off the bus, it turned out to be the same chaos, all the people in one place again,” says Maria Denkova.

The PCR test has started. Maria, who has already had a coronavirus, was tested in London in a public laboratory, not a private one.

“The state lab is free. The private lab starts at £ 100,” Maria said.

She showed a negative test result on the phone.

“They did it to me 48 hours before the trip; I waited more than 24 hours for the result to come out. This is the number, it does not work with a pen and a sheet of paper. Everything is online and with the With this state PCR test free they tell me it’s not valid, “said Maria Denkova.

“The name of the person should be written so that the test that was performed is by the PCR method, the date of the test and various other passport data, which is not included here. We do not have a requirement if the test will be paid or free. We have a requirement as a country for the method “, commented Dr. Irina Gaitanevska – Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Control of Infectious Diseases.

The keyword is PCR; it’s also not in Maria’s text message. For RHI, this is not the first case of its kind in the UK lab. That is why they asked the British embassy through the Ministry of Health.

“The British embassy has told us that not all tests carried out in this laboratory are by PCR, so we cannot know if it is not explicitly mentioned in the laboratory result that it is PCR,” said Dr Irina. Gaitanevska – Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Control of Infectious Diseases.

María and Genoveva remain in quarantine. And tomorrow they will do new tests, which will have it: the word PCR.
