Due to the epidemic, the New Year returned to being television

Socio-nostalgia versus chalga nostalgia and Stockholm isolation syndrome

Due to the epidemic, the celebration of the new 2021 is again set on the New Year’s program.

The three national televisions have made a special effort to create a New Year’s program, something they have not done in years. BNT, which organizes the reception in the square every year and always has the highest rating with live broadcasts, this year due to the epidemic broadcast a prerecorded entertainment program in the traditions of Mladen Mladenov, Neno Tsonzarov and Hacho Boyadzhiev.

The hosts were Alexandra Sarchadzhieva and Ruslan Maynov, which sparked interest in itself. Ivan Laskin’s widow had an affair with Maynov before marrying Laskin. That’s why lovers of gossip were eager to see them together.

Tatiana Lolova also participated, which was a kind of bridge to the traditional New Year’s programs, when television was one.

On BTV, Ivan and Andrei reviewed the last 30 years of the transition, also using nostalgia, but not about socialism, but about the Chalga generation, who listened to eternal successes from Ivana and Anelia. The nostalgia was illustrated by 24-hour newspaper headlines.

Of course, there is no need to comment on the Nikolaos Citiridis transmission, which is a proven failure before a final stop. Perhaps they thought they were repeating the 2018 scheme, when Slavi Trifonov made Christmas editions. But no, Citiridis is not Slavi Trifonov and he will not be.

Nova TV relied on their hit products – “The Masked Singer” and “Like 2 Drops of Water”, which was also a form of nostalgia or rather Stockholm syndrome – nostalgia for the harsh days of isolation, when the only entertainment in our closed days were television formats. , but the feeling of déjà vu remained.

There is a tradition in television ratings in recent years when BNT broadcasts its New Year’s programs live from the Plaza Alejandro I in Sofia. And is that public television is always more watched in the last hours of the old year and in the first hours of the new. The reason is the live broadcast and the habit of the spectators to listen to the countdown of the last 10 seconds and see the Danube dance.

No one can fight the high ratings of the live show; This maxim has always been used on commercial televisions BTV and Nova TV, which for this reason did not even attempt to make spectacular Christmas shows for New Year’s Eve.

This year, however, was different due to the coronavirus pandemic, of course. And for the first time in a long time, BNT made a recording show. But it was still the first choice of viewers. Forty percent of them watched BNT from 10 p.m. to 0 a.m. on December 31, according to data from polling agency GARB. The television rating at that time was 15.30 points.

At the same time, BTV occupies a 19.68% audience and a rating of 7.57 points. Nova TV has a rating of 4.15 points and a market share of 10.82%.

Viewers’ habit of watching BNT on New Year’s Eve is unlikely to be the reason for its high result again. Rather, the success lies in the fact that for the first year after the lavish Christmas shows of an era, public television once again relied on a strong script, great and beloved Bulgarian stars, and training from afar. The BNT shows were filmed in early December and their preliminary preparation in practice takes several months.

The biggest stars – at BNT

BNT had prepared a splendid New Years program. It brought together our greatest and most beloved singers and actors, who sang, danced, and entertained audiences in front of the small screen for over four hours.

A few minutes after the New Year and the Bulgarian anthem, the traditional Danube dance was played, and immediately afterwards the other most heard tune on New Year’s Eve, performed by the greats Vasil Naidenov and Bogdana Karadocheva. “New year, welcome, new year, with ripe wheat,” they sang, and around them were the other guests at “New Year with BNT” like Veselin Marinov, Silvia Katsarova, 100 Kila, Mikhail Yosifov’s music band, who before that they also sang for the spectators. Hosts Alexandra Sarchadzhieva and Ruslan Maynov never stopped smiling and joking with their guests and with themselves.

According to British scientists, the New Year is very good for health. The more a person celebrates the New Year, the longer he lives, Georgi Mamalev announced from the screen. Thanks to the talented actor and his peers, in addition to great music, there was a lot of laughs on public television. Kamen Vodenicharov and Toncho Tokmakchiev entered the image of the brothers and again engaged in funny thoughts, standing in front of the Christmas decorations.

Shortly before that, Tatiana Lolova herself appeared on the screen. He participated in “The New Year’s Stork”, and with sketches appeared some of the most loved and recognized actors such as Lubo Neykov, Albena Mihova, Maya Bezhanska, Antoaneta Dobreva-Neti. Folklore was not lacking for the festive atmosphere. It was played by Guna Ivanova, Nikolina Chakardakova, Iliya Lukov, Rumyana Popova, Sofi Marinova, and her son Lorenzo.

Orlin Goranov, who is currently the host of one of the most watched shows on BNT, the clever trivia game “The Last Wins”, participates in both Christmas shows on public television.

However

Slavi Trifonov too

publishes GARB data

on his Facebook page. He did a little comparative analysis with the ratings of 2018, when together with his team he was the author and producer of the BTV New Year’s program. The data it shows shows how private television was the first to watch on New Year’s Eve. This is what Slavi writes:

“Now I will give you the data (also from GARB – br), when my team did the BTV New Years program:

12.31.2018

BNT – rating 4.97 %%, market share 13.66%

BTV – rating 19.60%, market share 53.91%

NUEVA TV – rating 2.00%, market share 5.50%. “

It is a fact that Slavi Trifonov likes to handle the facts, but it is also true that she does not mind showing from time to time how best BTV was when making shows about her.

Still, the BTV hit was with Grigor Dimitrov and

the titles “24 hours”

Dude, do you remember a favorite portrait on the wall?

Left for 24 hours

There was no cell phone or internet. “

This is a quote from an Upsurt song. It can be declared the anthem of the bTV New Years program. It was based on the headlines of this century’s 24 Chasa newspaper articles. Which is actually a chronology of the life of Bulgarians at that time.

“Bulgarians have the ability to easily forget the good things. So our idea was to show the good things that have happened to us over the last 20 years through events and songs,” Ivan Hristov, producer of Andrei Arnaudov, told 24 Chassa on the vacation show. on BTV this year. When Grigor Dimitrov was told about his idea, he immediately agreed to participate, Hristov explained.

Each year of the 21st century was featured with iconic headlines from the favorite newspaper and with songs that became a hit during the 365 days in question. During five of these years: 366.

At the head were two Marias: Sylvester and Ignatova, as well as the Count.
Live on the show featured famous Bulgarians with their wishes, but the big hit was the New Year’s interview, a wish from Grigor Dimitrov, arguably our most popular athlete in this century.
