Turkish security forces will not allow New Years events to take place in rented hotels and villas during the national quarantine from December 31 to January 4, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters today, quoted by TASS .

“I repeat once again when it comes to such parties in hotels and villas. Our security forces are taking the necessary precautions. We cannot allow New Year events and if we receive information about it, we will carry out the necessary operations. For us, people’s lives are more important than anything else, “said the Turkish president, quoted by BTA.

Turkey’s Interior Ministry has banned any entertainment in hotels across the country from December 31 to January 4. After 10 PM on blackout days, the hotel management cannot play music, and after this time, live music is also prohibited. The ministry ordered that no crowds be allowed in hotels, including drinking areas.

On December 14, Erdogan announced the introduction of a curfew in Turkey from 9 p.m. on December 31 to 5 a.m. on January 4 as part of the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus. Currently in Turkey there is a restriction to go out between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. both from Monday to Friday and on weekends. Also, the number of visitors to shops and shopping centers is limited. When entering the points of sale, a QR code is reported, which in Turkey is called a “health code”.
