US chief surgeon Jerome Adams commented on the emergence of a more dangerous new strain of coronavirus in Britain, which has caused many countries to suspend flights there.

He made a statement on CBS television.

The doctor urged people to be more careful: “Viruses constantly mutate. If this mutation is much more contagious, we must be more careful while we wait for vaccines.”

Adams noted that vaccination in the United States against the coronavirus will be more complicated than ever in terms of logistics.

The Deputy Minister of Health, Admiral Brett Jirouar, added that so far there is no reason to introduce new measures.

On December 14, UK Health Minister Matthew Hancock announced that a new strain of coronavirus had been discovered in the country, which was spreading faster than the previous one.
The WHO also commented on the new strain in the UK.

According to representatives of the organization, it is in fact more contagious, but in general it will not change the level of danger of the disease.

This was commented by the WHO special ambassador for the global fight against COVID-19, David Nabaro. “Yes, it is more contagious, but apparently it is not more dangerous,” Nabaro said.

He stressed that people should follow security measures, but there is no need to change the way the epidemic is fought due to the new strain of coronavirus.
