The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, announced that the government has accepted the recommendation from the British Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Agency for emergency use of the vaccine against the new coronavirus (COVID-19), jointly developed by the US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech, adding that mass vaccination should start next week.

Johnson described the scientists’ efforts to create the vaccine as “biologically dwarf“.
The government has bought more than 350 million doses of seven different candidates for the vaccine, including the provision of 40 million doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine, Johnson said at a news conference.
“The first phase (of the vaccination process) will include residents of nursing homes, health and services personnel, elderly and what are clinically extremely vulnerable“explained the British Prime Minister.
