Our healthcare system is under great pressure. Most hospital beds are full. The needs are enormous. Something needs to be done. For a long time I asked us to follow the basic measurements. If we respected them as a society, we didn’t have to do anything else. But since this is not happening, it is necessary to introduce new measures. With the new measures we can stop the spread of the disease and wait for the vaccine. If we achieve a vaccination coverage higher than 80%, it will be a guarantee that there will be no outbreaks of the infection. The problem is that just as there was drama with the use of masks, there will be problems with vaccination. The question is what can we do to convince people that this must happen. I would personally be vaccinated with the first shipment, Dr. Simidchiev said.

The Minister of Health proposes a total closure due to the COVID crisis in the country

There are many patients in our country at the moment and our health system is exhausted because it has not been renovated, the building stock is not at the required level, and sometimes management decisions are not successful. The coronavirus brings these problems to the surface, the expert said.

In any case, the stricter measures will take effect, the question is why we had to get to them. In my opinion, we arrived because we were not united as a community, said Dr. Alexander Simidchiev.
