79.4% of teachers and principals in our country believe that the entire educational system should temporarily switch to distance e-learning. Here is a study of the “Education” Union, carried out among 4270 pedagogy specialists.

The results also show that 76.8% of those surveyed believe that the school environment is dangerous to work with.

The arguments:

  • it is difficult to create an organization due to the large number of sick and absent teachers and principals;
  • many teachers are cautious and hospitalized;
  • Teachers and principals are overwhelmed because they constantly replace their absent colleagues.

“For months, the situation in Bulgarian society, in Bulgarian health care, in the educational system has been quite urgent. Right now we have a closed health system, personal doctors who serve remotely and educational institutions that work, ”the union said.

Lack of medical personnel in schools

According to the survey, 10% of educational institutions do not have staff for a medical person, and another 25% also do not have medical staff because they are medical workers employed at retirement age, and the latter are afraid of working on the front line and are license.

“In this situation, the decision to temporarily move the country’s educational institutions to distance education in an electronic environment seems increasingly logical. That decision will be to protect the life, health and survival of Bulgarian teachers and principals, “said the Union of Education.

The position of the parents

According to the latest data, more than 70% of parents want their children to be educated in person. With the latest order from the Minister of Health, high school students switched to a form of online education. In some cities, sixth and seventh grade children are also taught remotely.

The government has opted for a differentiated approach and has let schools and kindergartens make local decisions about how to educate more infected people.

However, in order to teach remotely, there is a requirement that the decision be supported by parents and their organizations. According to the Bulgarian teachers, this is not an effective and fair measure.
