IN In relation to the frequent publications on social networks and sites written by doctors and pretending to be those that contain specific therapeutic regimens for the home treatment of the symptoms of Covid-19 or Covid-19 positive patients, the BMA states: self-medication is extremely dangerous.

This is stated in the position of the Bulgarian Medical Union (BMU) today.

Some of the circulating drugs can cause excessive accumulation in the body, causing sudden and sharp bleeding in the body. Another part of the recommended drugs are frankly useless in the situation and are commercial advertising of food supplements.

The proceedings, which are published in scientific journals, do not contain specific trademarks. They are performed by qualified medical personnel and are not used for self-treatment of patients, the BMA said in a statement.

Recurrence of physician-recommended therapy for symptoms of acute viral disease is evident. It is tailored to the individual condition of the patient and cannot be used as a universal remedy for everyone. Medications given to a loved one should not be taken without consulting a doctor.

We urge citizens in case of symptoms to contact their personal physician, who will prescribe individual therapy. Let’s be responsible and don’t trust the posts that “cure” us. Self-medication is dangerous, emphasizes the BMA.

Why is there a shortage of drugs in pharmacies

Sixteen hospitals need volunteers, announced by the Bulgarian Medical Union.

The medical establishments have filled in the forms of the professional organization, organizing the campaign to recruit volunteers – medical students. So far, the documents of 118 volunteers on the various hospital announcements have been submitted.

All current announcements for recruiting volunteers are posted on the BMA website. Each medical institution will select and contact approved candidates.
