A Banite professor is among the new victims of COVID-19 in the Smolyan region – Diseases

Twenty-five are the recently announced cases of COVID-19 in the Smolyan district in the last 24 hours: 14 women and 11 men aged 32 to 81 years. They are from the municipalities: Smolyan – 10; Zlatograd -5; Madan, Rudozem, Devin and Nedelino: 2 each; Chepelare and Banite – 1. This was announced by the Regional Health Inspectorate – Smolyan.

14 people were hospitalized: 11 at Smolyan District Hospital, two at MHAT-Madan and one at MHAT-Devin. The rest are in home treatment with symptoms of respiratory infection, isolated for 14 days.

Among the newly infected are three nurses, from a social institution in Madan Township, from a secondary school in Smolyan Township and from the district hospital. An educator at a social center in the Smolyan municipality is also infected.

Of the newly established cases, there are support staff from a kindergarten in Smolyan municipality and two teachers from a primary school in Banite municipality and a secondary school in Devin municipality. No additional measures against the epidemic are required in establishments.

The epidemiological study continues to establish contact persons.
