Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov, Regional Governor Dani Kanazireva and Chief of Police Chief Commissioner Yordan Rogachev announced the new measures in Plovdiv and the district.

Mass inspections with the police, RHI, the Food Agency and the Labor Inspectorate are underway to enforce restrictions

The old access regime in large hypermarkets is returning to Plovdiv and the region, as it was at the beginning of the pandemic.

This was announced by Regional Governor Dani Kanazireva after a headquarters meeting, which was attended by Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov and the Chief of Police, Senior Commissioner Yordan Rogachev.

“We are doubly tightening control over the observance of the measures: masks and distance in public transport and in shops. Up to 100 people will be allowed in large food chains, the rest will wait outside,” Kanazireva explained. Aisles for older customers are also being considered. In small shops a distance of 2 m will be required.

Rogachev insists that if after a week there is no effect, they will move to even more drastic restrictions in Plovdiv and the region. He added that the inspections will be carried out in conjunction with the Police, the RHI, the Food Agency and the Labor Inspection. “We will reach all the settlements in the district. If we do not see a result in a week, we will move to stricter measures,” he warned.

Signs for the new restrictions will be posted throughout. Fines for individuals range from 300 to 1,000 BGN and there will also be penalties for companies, Kanazireva recalled.

“I appeal to everyone, those who believe that such an infection exists and those who deny it. If the health system is blocked, even the most common cold will become dangerous because there will be no one to treat,” he said. the district governor. He commended school principals for being disciplined and overseeing supervision. The problem came from those who did not follow the rules.

“All the cargo is borne by the hospitals in Plovdiv. There are also rooms for COVID-19 in Karlovo and Asenovgrad. If we allocate more beds, it will be at the expense of the other rooms,” Kanazireva explained. According to her, to date there are 209 hospitalized, 171 of them with confirmed coronavirus. 70 are beds for moderate cases and 28, for intensive care.

Kanazireva announced that today there are 5 more doctors with positive tests and therefore there are a total of 87 since the beginning of the epidemic. The beds, as reported by 24plovdiv.bg, are occupied by one in the Infectious Diseases Clinic.

According to Kanazireva, an 11th grade student at the English high school tested positive and the entire class was quarantined.

Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov assured that the intensified inspections, which begin today, will not stop. “It will be monitored on public transport and on the Plovdiv-Assenovgrad train,” he said. There will also be hunts in the discos.
