New orders from the Minister of Health for COVID measures
The Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov, issued 2 new orders on the coronavirus.
The first document introduces changes to PCR testing. Until now, infected people who are undergoing home treatment have been quarantined for at least 14 days. After their expiration, they had to be examined and in case of negative result the isolation was canceled. However, it will now automatically cease after the two-week period expires. This means that a negative PCR test result is no longer necessary to end quarantine.
There are also changes in hospitalized patients, who until now were discharged from the hospital only in the presence of 2 negative tests in two days. However, under the new order, COVID-19 patients can be discharged from a hospital at the discretion of the treating physician and with specific indications and imaging results. “This applies to people who have the opportunity for subsequent isolation at home and adherence to the recommended treatment regimen,” the health department said. This means that the requirement for a negative PCR test is removed for discharge from a medical institution, as well as the condition to document a minimum of 10 days from the start of clinical complaints and a minimum of 3 additional days without complaints.
“The condition of discharge from the medical institution for hospital care is maintained with documented at least ten days from the start of clinical complaints and at least three days without complaints for people who require follow-up medical care in hospital conditions, for people housed in places that provide social services, as well as for people who cannot isolate themselves and receive treatment at home due to living with people from risk groups, ”the document states.
The second order of the Minister of Health refers to the realization of sporting events. Starting tomorrow, football matches at the “Vasil Levski” National Stadium will allow audiences of up to 30% occupancy, with spectator accommodation in at least two seats and with a physical distance of 1.5 m. The requirement remains in effect when outdoor sports competitions are held at all other sports facilities to allow an audience of up to 1000 people per sector, with an occupancy of up to 50%, spectator accommodation in at least one seat, and observance of a physical distance of 1.5 m.
