Brandon Flowers wrote the ‘Most Romantic Lyric’ for The Killers’ New Single ‘Dying Breed’

The Killers today released their (Dying Breed) single (August 14) from their sixth studio album Implode the Mirage, which will be released next Friday, August 21st via Island Records.

The rock band first posted the song during a 24-date Instagram Live, but frontman Brandon Flowers told NME that the words are some of the ‘most romantic’ he has ever written about his wife and muse Tana Mundkowsky.

“I love the idea of where my wife and I got to and where we were going,” Flowers said NME. “An overwhelming theme of this record begs the question, ‘Can two become one?’ I know it’s old-fashioned, but it’s my life. It’s probably the most beautiful or romantic text I’ve ever written. “

He also highlighted the following line in the second verse, “I will be there when the water rises / I will be your lifeguard, ‘as his favorite.” I feel grateful for that. I want her to know that despite that I will stay by her side and keep the promise, ‘the 39-year-old singer-songwriter said during the interview.

Artist Thomas Blackshear painted the majestic equestrian art for the single, which also used his 1996 “Dance of the Wind and Storm” print for the Imploding the Mirage album artwork.
