“Once Vice President Biden has made a decision on who his running mate will be, he will know the American people,” he said.
When asked earlier by Fox News in Delaware whether he had a VP or not, Biden had said, “Yeh, I have.”
When Fox News asked who, Biden said “you” in response. It was initially unclear how serious Biden’s initial reaction, made during a bike ride in a state park, was.
Speculation is rife about who Biden may choose as his running mate, and an announcement is expected every day.
Both confidants who spoke with Axios say the last two candidates are California Senator Kamala Harris and Susan Rice, who served as national security adviser and ambassador to the United Nations under President Obama.
