The Chinese Zhang Shanshan surpassed the Indian Mukesh Ambani to become the richest man in Asia.
Zhang Shanshan is the founder of Nongfu Spring, a vaccine magnet and the largest bottled water company in China.
Mukesh Ambani is the President and Managing Director of Reliance Industries of India.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zhang’s net worth has risen from 60.9 billion to ৮ 6.7 billion this year.
Zhang Shanshan, 8, is the 11th richest person in the world. Before starting the business, he worked as a builder, pharmaceutical manufacturer and agent for beverage companies. At one point he also tried to take journalism as a profession.
In April this year, Zhang-controlled Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. His company’s stock suddenly became popular. Its shares have risen to 155 percent.
On the other hand, the Beijing Wantai Biological share price has risen by more than 2,000 percent.
