In Phulbari, Dinajpur, there was a collision between a train and a truck, this time when 12 people were killed in a collision between a bus and a truck in Joypurhat. A goalkeeper named Sushant Kumar Das (32) died in the incident. In Joypurhat, a big accident happened when Getman was asleep. At Phulbari, the train’s locomotive master disobeyed the signal and entered the station. And this is where the accident happened.
The accident took place at 1 a.m. on Monday (December 21) at a place called Railghunti in the municipal city of Fulbari. The railway communication was closed for approximately 5 hours after the accident. Sushant’s body, who died at 6 a.m., was recovered from under the truck involved in the accident.
The deceased was identified as Sushant Kumar Das, a resident of the Ishwardi district. The police arrested Saidul Islam (34), the driver of the deadly truck. Truck driver Saidul Islam is the son of Kafiluddin Mandal from Mahadevpur upazila in Naogaon district.
Fulbari train station superintendent Israfil Sarkar said a 23 Up freight train from Birampur entered Fulbari station line 1 at 1:04 pm. But 1 minute later, at 1:05 am, another train called MGBC tried to enter Line 1 of the station without permission from the station. The train was going to Dhaka with goods from Parbatipur. At that time, a truck carrying rice from Thakurgaon to Bogra (Dhaka Metro-T-14-9613) pushed the train into a place called Phulbari Railghunti, 500 meters north of the station.
There was heavy fog in the area at the time of the accident. The truck fell to the side of the road. Truck driver Saidul Islam was slightly injured. The body of goalkeeper Sushant Kumar Das was found under the truck when the truck involved in the accident was moved by a tow truck at 6 am Tuesday.
The movement of the train on that railway line stopped after the accident. After the freight train was pulled from the line at 6:10 am, the train movement normalized.
He added that since the MGBC train was not allowed to enter the station, the doorman did not remove the signal from the train door. At that time, no train was supposed to go through that railway gate. We initially assumed that the accident was due to the error of the train conductor. He said that if the MGBC train had entered the station’s line 1, a major accident would have occurred.
