A judicial petition has been filed with the High Court seeking instructions to stop the broadcast of the Qatar-based Al Jazeera television network in Bangladesh. At the same time, Rite Media has demanded the removal of the ‘All the Prime Minister’s Man’ report from all online platforms, including YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.

The appeal was filed in the corresponding branch of the Superior Court on Monday (February 8), the Attorney General’s Office said. However, the Attorney General’s Office does not want to reveal the petitioner’s name now.

Meanwhile, in the claim, the Secretary of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Technology, the President of BTRC, the IG of Police and others have been charged.

Earlier, on February 1, a report on Al Jazeera titled “All the Prime Minister’s Man” was released. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladesh Army also strongly condemned and protested the report.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the report was an attempt to destabilize the country. Those who have conspired to destabilize the country before are associated with it.
