The installation work of span 36 on the Padma Bridge began on Thursday. At around 11:15 pm, the span exited the Mawa Construction Yard towards posts 2 and 3 on the Mawa side. It reached within half an hour.

Bridge engineers say that if there is time, the posts can be installed today or the span can be completed by Friday morning. This section has been installed in such a way that 5,400 meters of the bridge are visible.

The installation of this section began within 7 days after the installation of section 35. On October 31, section 35 was placed at poles 6 and 7 on the Mawa side. The entire bridge was visible and there were 6 spans left. Last month 4 sections were installed.

Dewan Abdul Quader, executive engineer and project manager (main bridge) of the bridge, told Prothom Alo that a floating ‘Tian-e’ One-B crane with a capacity of 3,600 tonnes left Munshiganj’s Mawa Construction Yard around 11:15 am on Thursday. The floating crane has been dug to get closer to the pillars. Pillar 2-3 is located at the end of Mawa in Munshiganj. Near the banks of the Padma River. All kinds of preparations have also been made for the installation of the section. If all goes well there, it will be set on Thursday.
