Khulshi Police Inspector (Investigation) Aftab Hossain told bdnews24.com that a woman’s body was recovered from a paved house next to the train track on Wednesday afternoon. Sohail used to live with his wife Amena in that house.
“Her brother filed a case against Amena for murder from Tuesday night until early Wednesday morning.
Inspector Aftab said Amena was strangled to death by wrapping her neck in a handkerchief. Sohail has been in hiding since the incident.
Meanwhile, after recovering the body, Sohail was arrested in Elliotganj overnight and taken to Chittagong on Thursday.
Sohail testified under Section 164 in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Sarwar Jahan on Thursday afternoon.
Khulshi Police Station OC Shahinul Islam said Amena and Sohail were in Chittagong but that their three children lived with their grandmother in Elliotganj.
