Wife gang-raped in front of her husband in Chittagong, arrested 4

The malefactors gang-raped the wife in front of her husband after taking her from the Bayazid Bostami area in the metropolis of Chittagong. Police arrested four defendants in the incident. The incident took place on Saturday night.

The four arrested are Md. Shafi (34), Md. Badsha (38), Md. Javed (26) and Md. Robin (19). In this case. Ibrahim, 38, is still at large.

It is known that on the way home at night, five criminals collected the husband and wife and took them to a secluded place. There they gang-raped the wife in front of the husband.

According to the police, the Bangladesh Police hotline number 999 was called around 2 am yesterday and it was reported that some people had taken his wife in the dark keeping her husband in custody near the home of the Commissioner Shafi, Central Shahidnagar, Bayezid Police Station. Upon receiving the news, the police rushed to the scene and some of them were arrested while fleeing. The police rescued the victim’s husband.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Additional Deputy Commissioner (CMP) Ashikur Rahman said the victim’s husband was returning home to Raufabad from Wapda Gate after working with his wife. As soon as they arrived in front of the Oxygen Alpana Club around 10:30 pm, Shafi arrested them and asked for their names and addresses and said they were not husband and wife. At one point, Shafi, his friend Badshah, Ibrahim, Md. Reunited Jabed and Robin. Later he forced them both to take him to the house of said gentleman and took him in an autorickshaw. After turning them around for a few hours, Delwar was caught in an autorickshaw at 1:30 p.m. and his wife was taken to a room at Salma Colony in the center of Shahid Nagar by five men who raped her.

A case has been registered in this regard, said the CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner.
