The wife died after jumping out of her husband’s private moving car in Bagha, Rajshahi. On Saturday (October 3) morning, she was injured when she jumped out of a private car on her way to Dhaka from her father-in-law’s house in the Mirganj area of Baghar. He later died on the way to Ramek Hospital. Husband Mohammad Ali has been in police custody after the incident.
According to the investigation, Julia Khatun, 20, daughter of Mosharraf Hossain from Mirganj village of upazila, was married to Mohammad Ali, 28, son of Shahidul Mandal from Rajbari district, about eight years ago. They currently have a 5-year-old son in their family. Shahidul is known to currently live in a rented house in Dhaka as she is involved in the garment business.

Julia’s uncle, Makul Hossain, said the relationship between the daughter and son-in-law was not going well recently. For this reason, for the last month, Julia was staying at her parents’ house and did not want to go to Dhaka. Suddenly, on Friday (October 3), the son-in-law came to visit his father-in-law’s house in Mirganj in his private car. He then took his wife and son in a private car and left the house at 10 am on Saturday to visit Bagha Mazar Sharif. After that, instead of going to the shrine, crossing the Bagha Bazaar, the son-in-law set off towards Dhaka, Julia realized the matter, opened the car door and jumped to the ground. She was seriously injured in the incident.
At that time, local people, including Julia’s husband, rescued her and took her to the Upazila Health Center. The doctor on duty referred Julia to Ramek Hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, her relatives found out and rushed to the Upazila Health Center. Then Julia was taken to Ramek Hospital with the addition of a bus and died on the way.
The officer in charge of the Bagha (OC) police station, Nazrul Islam, said that her husband Mohammad Ali has been in police custody after receiving the news of the accident. No written complaint was received as of this afternoon. Legal action will be taken.
