A new face may soon appear in the post of Minister of State for Religion, which was left vacant after the death of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. A reliable source confirmed to Jugantar that the matter is almost over.

Sheikh Abdullah died on June 14 after being attacked by Corona. When the Awami League formed the government for the third time in a row, it obtained the responsibility of the state minister of religion for the technocrat quota in the cabinet formed on January 8, 2019. The post is now vacant upon his death.

Relevant sources say that it is now very certain who will be given the responsibility of the minister of state of the ministry of religion. However, since the issue of the appointment of ministers and ministers of state is the exclusive competence of the Prime Minister, no one is talking about it directly.

Various names have already been discussed as to who will be appointed to fill the vacancy in the Ministry of Religion.

Among them are Awami League deputy from Mymensingh-6 Hafeez Ruhul Amin Madani, Bazlul Haque Harun from Jhalokati-1, Abu Reza Nadvi from Chittagong-15 and Syed Nazibul from Chittagong-2 and the Tarikat Federation of Bangladesh. Bashar Maizbhandari has been in the discussion for so long.

However, Jamalpur-2 MP Alhaj Faridul Haque Khan Dulal came to the discussion after printing all the discussions. On Monday there are rumors that he will be the state religion minister after Sheikh Abdullah.

When asked about this, a senior official at the Ministry of Religion, who did not want to be named, told Jugantar on Monday night: “We have also heard the matter verbally. However, no official instructions have yet been issued.

Many leaders and activists from the Ministry of Religion and the Awami League are already posting greetings for Faridul Haque Khan Dulal on social media.

If this rumor is true, Jamalpur-2 MP Faridul Haque Khan Dulal will join the cabinet as a new member in this term.

The last cabinet enlargement was on July 13 of last year. The leader of the Awami League, Fazilatun Nesa Indira, was sworn in as Minister of State that day. The Minister of State, Imran Ahmed, was promoted to Minister. Then no one new was added to the cabinet. There was no change.

After an outright victory in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election, the Awami League formed the government for the third consecutive term on January 8 of last year. On that day, the 47-member cabinet headed by the president of the Awami League and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina started with 24 ministers, 19 ministers of state and three deputy ministers. There are currently 46 cabinet members.
