He spoke as the main guest on the final day of a Tafsirul Quran mahfil organized by Al Amin at the Parbati government high school in Hathazari on Friday night.
Hefazat-e-Islam Deputy General Secretary Mamunul Haque, who opposed the Bangabandhu sculpture, was scheduled to address the meeting as one of the keynote speakers.
But for two days, Mamunul Haque did not come to Chittagong in the face of resistance from various organizations, including Juba League-Chhatra League and Sramik League.
However, Amir Junaid Babungari from Hefazat gave an anti-sculpture speech at that meeting.
He said: “The Prime Minister has said that the country will be governed by the statutes of Medina. Thanks to the prime minister. If the country is governed by the Charter of Medina, there can be no anti-Islamic act. Inshallah the Prime Minister (to place the sculpture) will not budge, he won’t budge.
“If the country is governed by the Charter of Medina, there can be no sculpture. Is there a sculpture in Medina?
Babungari said: “Sculpture, it is not legal. I am not saying the name of any party or leader, whatever their sculpture.
“By God, if someone puts up a sculpture of my father, I’ll be the first to take it out.” Any group that places a sculpture, even if the sculpture of my father is placed, will not agree with the Shariah. I’ll drag him away. “
Addressing the Prime Minister, Babungari said: “I love Bangabandhu from the bottom of my heart. Your father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib, we respect him. Who killed this Bangabandhu? Madrasa students? Any scholar? Nerd. This Bangabandhu has been killed by the people of Bangabandhu.
“I warn you. The atheists who are sitting on your neck will harm you, they will kill you. We are not your enemy. We want peace and order in the country.”
On November 13, a demonstration under the banner of “Touhidi Janata Oikya Parishad” was held at the Dhupkhola field in Gandaria, Dhaka.
On the same day, Maulana Mamunul Haque, Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Khilafat Jub Majlis and Central President of Bangladesh Khilafat Jub Majlis, also publicly opposed the installation of the Bangabandhu sculpture at the Shane Risalat Conference organized by Bangladesh Khilafat Jub Majlis Dhaka Metropolitan at the BMA Auditorium in the capital.
After that statement, there was no strong protest from the government or the Awami League, for which the allies criticized it.
A statement issued by JSD at the time read: “By transferring the sculpture placed in front of the Supreme Court to religious businessmen, this evil force has shown the courage to oppose the installation of the Bangabandhu sculpture.”
The 1971 Committee for the Elimination of Deadly Agents has expressed fears of a ‘catastrophe’ for the country and the nation if legal action is not taken against fundamentalists who have demanded the removal of the sculpture of the Father of the Nation.
Later, at a function in Chittagong on November 15, Chittagong-9 Deputy Minister of Education and MP, Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel, said that strict measures would be taken if opponents of the installation of the Bangabandhu sculpture did not excuse me.
Warning the “fundamentalist group” not to go too far, Nawfel said: “It won’t take long to go too far.”
Hefazat Amir Junaid Babungari made four demands on the government from the Hathazari mahfil on Friday night.
There are demands to stop ISKCON activities in Bangladesh, officially declare the Qadianis as ‘non-Muslim’, close the embassy and expel the French ambassador, and pass a resolution condemning France in parliament.
Babungari said: “The country will be governed by the statutes of Medina. We agree with the Prime Minister on this. Ninety percent of Muslim countries will follow the Medina letter. Russia, the United States, India, China will not be able to follow the letter.
“Awami League and BNP haven’t fought. They are side by side in the queue for Eid prayers. There is a relationship between Awami League and BNP. Atheists and atheists are fighting hard in present-day Bangladesh and around the world. “
Claiming that Hefazat-e-Islam, which carried out all-day violence in Dhaka’s Motijheel on May 5, 2013, is a ‘totally non-political organization’, the organization’s top leader said: “It doesn’t matter whether Haq is arrested or not. Nick on remand, hang him up, we have to tell the truth. “
Although the organizer of the three-day meeting near Hathazari Madrasa is an organization called ‘Al Amin Sangstha’, mainly those associated with Hifazat are involved in this organization.
The event claims that the company has been hosting mahfils every winter in Hathazari since 2005.
