Vehicles will circulate on the top of the bridge and trains on the bottom. China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Company Limited (MBEC), a Chinese contractor, is working on the construction of the main bridge, and Sino Hydro Corporation, another company, is working on the governance of the river. The total budget for the project is Tk 30,193.39 crore.
