BNP Deputy Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that the younger brother of the Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has demanded the resignation of two Noakhali MPs, deputy commissioners and police superintendents.

He made the remarks at a press conference at the party’s headquarters in the capital, Naya Paltan, on Monday.

Rizvi said that a recent statement by Obaidul Quader’s own younger brother, Abdul Quader Mirza, mayor of Basurhat Township in Noakhali’s Kompaniganj, went viral on social media. A statement has gone viral. At a press conference in the municipality’s Battala Chattar on Thursday morning, Abdul Quader Mirza said: “If the elections are fair, the Awami League MPs will not be able to find a door to escape.”

‘Abdul Quader Mirza’s statement is a realistic picture of the current situation in Bangladesh. We hope that Mr. Obaidul Quader will realize the importance of his own younger brother’s statement without finding any involvement of BNP with Abdul Quader Mirza.

Rizvi said that Abdul Quader Mirza’s statement showed that the Awami government had misled the people for 12 years in the name of the elections by putting the Electoral Commission in its lap.

Addressing Obaidul Quader, he further said that he has taken fabricated statements against BNP at daily press conferences as his only political program. Lying against BNP every day for no reason has made him a ridiculous character to people. He doesn’t seem to understand.

Rizvi said that neither Sheikh Hasina nor Obaidul Quader, who was trapped in the four walls of Ganobhaban after the coronavirus outbreak, survived the RAB police patrol, now that they have become enemies of the people. Therefore, they have no choice but to make puerile statements against BNP.
