Maulana Mamunul Haque, Deputy Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh and Secretary General of Khilafah Majlis, has clarified her position on the incident at the Royal Resort in Sonargaon, Narayanganj. He spoke live on his Facebook Saturday night. Their comments are as follows:

Assalamu Alaikum, the compatriots, the media workers who are connected to my Facebook Live right now from the country and abroad. Right now there is a lot of tension in the country on an issue, there is a lot of confusion. I have come before you to dispel that confusion and present the details of the actual incident.

We are doing this live as a family right now. I am accompanied by my older brother, Mr. Hafez Mahmudul Haque Saheb, my older brother Maulana Mahbubul Haque, Rifadul Madaresul Arabia Bangladesh General Secretary Hazrat Maulana Mahfuzul Haque Saheb is present.

We have come here to raise the issue in front of the media as a family, hopefully there is no more confusion after this statement. And no one will try to give a different statement.

What happened today is that I was overwhelmed by the days and nights of hard work. So rest was needed. So I went to Sonargaon in Narayanganj near Dhaka to rest. With was my wife.

There is some ambiguity about the identity of my wife. She was my second wife. And there was some confusion about his testimony. The police officer present was probably a Circle ASP, Mr. Mosharraf. He hears details from me and checks the facts.

The one with me was a very close friend and the ex-wife of my colleague. After two and a half years of fighting with him, they have two children. With that in mind, I arranged the marriage in the presence of some of my close friends and family. And through this marriage she is my legitimate married wife. And the local police administration is satisfied with my statement.

But there were some local journalists present, some local Juba League and some members of the government party misbehaved with me. And there are live videos of terrorist attacks and assaults.

These are the things that compatriots know when they broadcast live video. And the people of the country have listened to my speech there. After listening to me and revealing my identity to my family and wife, it went viral. And sensing the presence of devout local Muslims, they came to my rescue. They rushed there with enthusiasm. I immediately try to calm the crowd. I finally took the crowd and left the place. They vandalize in a state of some excitement.

My family knows about this incident, my parents know it too. And the police officer present also confirmed the matter by speaking to my family on the phone. Therefore, no one should spread misleading words on this topic. I urge you not to agitate under any circumstances. Stay calm and do not do anything that causes loss of life or property.

This is my official statement filed from my own identification. If there is any kind of conflict with any match opponent, none of you will engage in such behavior.

Earlier on Saturday night, Maulana Mamunul Haque, deputy general secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, was released from the blockade. He was rescued from the Royal Resort in Sonargaon. Madrasa locals and students received information about Mamunul Haque’s whereabouts at the Royal Resort in the afternoon and some activists from the local Juba League-Chhatra League blocked him. Officials from the police and local administration were also present at the time. Some people made the incident live on Facebook. Seeing that live, the excitement spread. At night, hundreds of locals and students from the madrasa went to the spa and rescued Mamunul Haque. Mamunul Haque came out and addressed the crowd.

In the video posted on Facebook, it is seen that some locals block Maulana Mamunul Haque in room number 501 of the resort and interrogate him. At that point, Mamunul Haque said in response to his question, he arrived at the resort with his second wife. The wife’s name is Amena Tayyaba. According to Sharia, he married Amena two years ago. You have evidence about it.

As seen in the Facebook video, Mamunul Haque says in response to the question: ‘I swear in the name of Allah, she is my wife. I married according to the law. I will give all kinds of tests. I did not come here with any weakness. Came here with my wife for a snack. The workforce of the Awami League and the Juba League has harassed me.

Responding to journalists ‘question at the time, Mamunul Haque said:’ Today (Saturday) I went to Sonargaon with my wife at noon. Come here (resort) to visit the museum and rest. My point is clear, we came here for a little snack. … many rebellious people have come here. You have seen. I will take legal action against them.

When asked about this, Narayanganj’s additional police superintendent Mostafizur Rahman told NTV Online that Maulana Mamunul Haque, the deputy general secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, was neither detained nor arrested. He was taken into police custody for security reasons. He was later released when the locals arrived.
