The Ministry of Public Administrations has finalized the draft of the vacation list for the next academic year 2021. The proposed list will soon be presented to the Cabinet for approval. If the cabinet approves the list, it will be published in the form of a notice from the ministry in question. In accordance with the approved curriculum on the basis of this vacation, all educational activities will take place, including next year’s class vacation exam.
According to the draft list, in 2021 the general leave is 14 days and the executive order leave is eight days. Although there are 22 general and executive holidays, there will be weekly holidays on Fridays and Saturdays. The weekly two-day holiday will be effective in elementary schools and public and private educational institutions at the secondary and upper secondary levels. Under the existing system, the educational institution has a weekly holiday only on Fridays.
The Ministry of Public Function will issue a notification in this regard subject to the approval of the Cabinet. Then the calendar printing process will begin in 2021. Several non-governmental organizations will also publish calendars after the holidays.
An official from the Ministry of Public Administration said that the list of government office holidays for 2021 has been finalized. It was sent to the Prime Minister’s Office for approval. The Prime Minister has agreed with this. If all goes well, the list of holidays can be presented to the next cabinet meeting for approval. That is why it has already been sent to the cabinet department.
According to stakeholders, the Ministry of Public Administration has prepared a draft list of holidays for 2021 in coordination with the calendar 1428-28 BS drawn up by Bangla Academy, the list of various religious episodes from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Meteorological Department and the list of Islamic episodes in Arabic every month.
According to the list, Shabe Barat of the Islamic period will be celebrated on Monday March 29, Shabe Qadr on Monday May 10, Eid-ul-Fitr on May 13, Eid-ul-Azha on Tuesday July 20, Ashura on Thursday 19 August, Eid Miladunnabi on October 19
Holidays include national holidays and religious days important to different communities. This holiday also includes six weekly holidays. There are four Fridays and two Saturdays. On the occasion of the Bengali New Year and various important religious days, there will be eight public holidays in the executive order. The executive order includes a weekly leave day (Saturday) between holidays. So although the general drop and the executive order drop is 22 days, due to Friday and Saturday (weekly drop) this drop is practically 15 days.
On the occasion of the religious holiday, as always, the employees of the Republic have the opportunity to enjoy three days of optional leave. Similarly, there is an optional two-day leave provision for employees belonging to various small ethnic groups working in and out of the Chittagong Hill Tracts on the occasion of the main Vaisabi social festival or similar social festival.
