Dhaka: The RAB expedition team recovered weapons from under the bed in the dormitory of Dhaka South City Corporation councilor Irfan Selim, the son of MP Haji Selim. Wine, beer and wakitki were also found in the operation.
At one stage of the raid on Monday (October 26) afternoon, weapons and drugs were found when journalists were taken into the home of Haji Selim’s Chan Sardar Dada.
Details will be released at the briefing if the operation is declared over, said RAB officials who surrounded the home outside.
Earlier, Irfan Selim and his bodyguard Zahid were temporarily taken into RAB custody around 3:30 pm, said Lt. Col. Ashiq Billah, director of the RAB’s media and legal wing.
He said that the raid on Irfan Selim’s house was being carried out on the basis of some specific allegations.

An RAB team began searching Chan Sardar’s grandfather’s house to arrest Haji Selim’s son starting at 12:30 pm on Monday.
Earlier on Monday (October 26), Lieutenant Wasim, the victim of the beating of a naval officer in Dhanmondi, filed a lawsuit against the Dhanmondi Police Station against four people, including Dhaka South City Corporation Councilor Irfan Selim. Police arrested the driver immediately after the case.
According to the case statement, after Irfan’s car collided with Wasim, the naval officer stopped Wasim on the side of the road and stopped in front of the car. Introduce you. Then the defendants started saying together from the car: ‘I am going to take out your navy / army, your lieutenant / captain. I’ll kill you now. ‘ Then he went out and killed Wasim and abused his wife in obscene language. They beat Wasim and left him in a bloody state. His wife, locals and a Dhanmondi traffic police officer on duty rescued him and took him to Anwar Khan Model Hospital.
