Hundreds of people have protested in the city of Malm, in southern Sweden, against the desecration of the holy book Al-Quran by Muslims. At least 20 people have been arrested in connection with the confrontation.
Angry Muslims in Malm ো, Sweden’s third-largest city, have organized violent protests over a Quran burning incident. The media reported on the BBC.
Immigrants took to the streets in protest after fierce right-wing Islamophobes set the Koran on fire last Friday in the migrant suburb of Rosengard in Malm. The police confronted them. Swedish police say, About 300 people participated in the protest.
During the protest last Friday night, some young people set cars on fire and threw brick batons at the police.
Rasmus Paludan, a far-right and anti-immigrant leader from Sweden’s neighboring Denmark, wanted to take part in a Quran desecration incident in the Swedish town of Mamlo last Friday. But the Swedish police arrested him before entering the city and sent him to Denmark. Paludan had previously been involved in the desecration of the Koran in Denmark. The AFP news agency quoted Swedish officials as saying, Paludan has been banned from entering Sweden for two years.
The Danish anti-Islamic leader had previously asked the people to desecrate the Qur’an.
Rasmus Paladun is the leader of the far-right group Storm Course. He was sentenced to one month in prison in Denmark for racism and other crimes. He was convicted of posting anti-Islamic videos on Paladun’s party’s social media channel.
According to local media in Sweden, Three people have been arrested for allegedly being involved in insulting the Koran last Friday.
Bangladeshi journalist Tasneem Khalil lives in Malm, Sweden. He reported, Rasmus Paladun’s followers are believed to have burned the Koran.
Tasneem Khalil reported,Epaladun’s followers secretly burned the Koran on a cycle route. They have recorded the incident themselves. They then uploaded it to a website.
Tasneem Khalil said, Those who have done this, They are making a ridiculous argument in your favor. They are saying, They work for freedom of expression. But according to Swedish law it is illegal, Because it is spreading hatred towards people of a certain religion.
