The case alleges that the 40-year-old woman was raped in Dhamila Laddu in the Deopara Union of the upazila on Saturday night.
Those arrested are Shukur, 40, son of Moksed Ali from Bindarampur village under Damkura police station in Paba upazila of Rajshahi, Rony, 30, son of Saiful Islam from Dhamila village in Godagari and Babu, 45, son of the late Abu Zakir.
Referring to the case, the Rajshahi Kashiadanga Metropolitan Police Station OC SM Masud Parvez said the woman was a resident of Tanore Upazila in Rajshahi. He lives in the Kashiadanga Thana area of the metropolis and leads his family by selling vegetables.
He said the defendant called the woman at the Dhamila Laddu junction in Deopara Union and took her away. They then took him to the mango orchard and raped him.
OC Masud Parvez said that when the woman arrived at the Kashiadanga police station and filed a complaint, she was detained after speaking with senior officials. Subsequently, three police stations carried out a joint operation, including Damkura Police Station and Godagari Model Police Station, and two others were arrested. All three were handed over to the Godagari Police Station at night.
Godagari Police Station OC Khairul Islam said three people had been arrested in connection with the rape. The young woman herself has filed a case against them. At noon they were sent to jail by the court.
He said the woman was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for a medical examination.
