Five cases have been registered in three police stations in the capital during the written examination of the Bar Association. The number of defendants in these cases is around a thousand. However, 49 people have been arrested in the incident. And 24 of them have been referred. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim approved the order on Sunday.

The Dhaka (DC) Deputy Commissioner of the Crime, Information and Prosecution Department, Zafar Hossain, confirmed this to NTV Online. He said investigating officers in the case appeared today before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Court in 49 separate cases. The investigating officers requested preventive detention for three days. Following the request, the judge ordered the preventive detention of 24 people in one day. Others were sent to prison.

Mohammadpur Police Officer in Charge (CO) Abdul Latif told NTV Online: “The police have brought a case against Mohammadpur Central College for vandalism and assault on the police. In the case, 18 people were named and another 500 people were named as defendants. Eleven people have been arrested in the case and pretrial detention has been requested.

Moazzem Hossain, a duty officer for the Newmarket Police Station, told NTV Online that BCSIR school authorities had brought a total of three cases, including one against the police and two against the Bar Examination vandalism. A total of 37 people were named and 250 people were charged in the incident. 38 people have been arrested and in preventive detention in these cases.

The officer in charge of the Sutrapur police station said there was a case of vandalism in connection with the Bar Examination. He could not immediately say how many people have been charged in the case. However, one person was arrested and detained in the incident, he said.

Previously, the written test of the Bar Association for admission as a lawyer began at 9 am on Saturday in nine centers in the capital. More than 13 thousand students participated. Within five minutes of the start of the test, the students from the two centers began boycotting the test with the slogan ‘The question has become difficult’ and continued chanting slogans. The two centers are Mohammadpur Government Model School and College and Dhaka Metropolitan Women’s College. The situation is similar at Mohammadpur Women’s College, Mohammadpur Central College, and BCSIR High School. Some students from other schools go to these institutions and stop the exam.
