Johnny De Raj, a regional artist, was shot dead by criminals in Himchhari Dhala on the Eidgaon-Eidgarh road in Cox’s Bazar Sadar. The incident took place around 8 a.m. Thursday.
According to police, Johnny Dey performed at a performance in the Chakaria district on Wednesday night. This morning, Johnny and his father left Chakaria on their way home with a GNC autorickshaw. When the autorickshaw reached Himchhari Dhala on the Eidgah-Eidgarh-Baishari road around 8 am, some masked vehicles stopped the vehicle. They then shot Johnny and fled into the woods.
Johnny De Ramu is the son of Tapan from the Eidgarh Rajghat area of the upazila. Johnny was this year’s HSC candidate from Eidgaon College. In addition to her studies, she sang at various social events.
Eidgarh 4th Ward UP confirmed the matter. Alamgir Hossain said that passengers carrying CNG were robbed at Himchhari Dhala on their way to Eidgarh from Eidgaon. Singer Johnny was shot and killed by robbers.
Ramu’s Police Officer in Charge (OC), KM Ajmiruzzaman, said the vocalist was shot and killed. His body was recovered and sent to the morgue at Cox Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy. The police are conducting operations to catch the culprits.
